The exhibition White Noise: Quand le graphisme fait du bruit – held at Les Subsistances in Chaumont, France – closed on Sunday to the public, though is being visited this week by students, teachers and others from educational institutions.
My section of the show, The Past The Present & The Possible, presented around 300 Barney Bubbles designs on the theme of his mid-career self-analysis which sparked a greater concentration on historicism and simplification of methods and outcomes. With co-curators Sophie Demay and Étienne Hervy, I incorporated the Bubbles video triptych commissioned from Kate Moross last year.
The other participants in White Noise were French artists Shoboshobo and Laurent Fétis, Studio Moniker and Experimental Jetset from the Netherlands and James Goggin, director of Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, who collaborated with Demay and Hervy on record label concept Confusion.
White Noise was presented as part of Chaumont’s 23rd International Graphics & Poster Festival and was co-produced by the Pompidou Centre.
