This is the little-seen promo video for Brian Eno’s song China, My China (from 1974’s Taking Tiger Mountain [By Strategy]).
Eno appears with Polly Eltes and Judy Nylon.
Eltes is a former model turned actress and singer; she contributed vocals to the same album’s Mother Whale Eyeless and has collaborated with Michael Karoli and Jah Wobble. She is also a photographer.
Judy Nylon is the American-born performer, writer and artist who took 70s London by storm – I wrote about her a couple of years back here.
Nylon was often in cahoots with her partner in Snatch, Patti Palladin. Here they are performing at Hurrah! in 1979. I think this was shot by the estimable Paul Tickell:

September 23, 2011 at 1:33 pmI’m convinced it’s Eno doing the backing vocals on Suzi Quatro’s 48 Crash. I haven’t found any evidence to support this – but I believe 48 Crash and Eno’s early solo outings were recorded at the same studio

Also I assumed SQ recorded at Rak in St John’s Wood – BE’s records were done mainly at Island in Basing street; the first, here Come The Warm Jets, was recorded at Majestic Studios in Clapham. Interviewed BE about it once – he had no budget. Majestic was kind of an interesting place. A few years later Chris Spedding produced Sex Pistols demos at Majestic – there’s a shot of the band outside around the back doors of a mini-van with Malcolm McLaren holding the tapes, Glen in paint-splashed jeans + Rotten in his school blazer.

I know the exact Pistols shot – McLaren’s got a parcel under his arm..wasn’t Majestic an ex-theatre?
