Below is a fun clip bringing back memories of the 2000 European Merry Mex-Mas tour by El Vez with his Memphis Mariachis and lovely Elvettes.
Having organised for indie label Poptones to release the Merry Mex-Mas album and Public Image-quoting Feliz Navidad single (on vinyl), I helped out as point man on the UK dates which culminated in a wild Hogmanay gig in the grounds of Edinburgh Castle.
We all had a great time and knowing that my dear friend El Rey Robert Lopez is taking his Mex-Mas antics Down Under 15 years later as I type fills me with cheer.
A punk rock Feliz Navidad + ¡Feliz Año Nuevo! to you, to all collaborators and fellow schemers and dreamers.
