Artist/illustrator Stephen Fowler’s Rubber Stamping is an engaging guide which stems from his rich body of work in primitive, D-I-Y printmaking.

With a foreword by fellow artist Rob Ryan, Rubber Stamping presents a brief history of experimentation with the medium by fine artists, illustrators and subversives before setting out in practical terms options for technical approaches, suggested projects and alternative print methods.

In an age where the word “craft” is cynically bandied around as an increasingly meaningless marketing term, Fowler’s book is a winning celebration of this highly effective process which can result in work blurring the boundaries between art, decoration, design and illustration.
